Fall into fun!

October 27th, 2017

This is the best time of year to take advantage of all the Grand Strand offers.

Those ocean breezes have never been cooler or more invigorating, and it makes Grande Dunes residents want to get up and go. Fortunately, October and November are months with a lot going on, so here are just a few ideas to get you started.

Get around to playing a round.

Even the most die-hard golfer may have trouble getting motivated to play in the heat and humidity of late Summer, but that’s all behind us now. The current weather now allows for perfect conditions on our exclusive par-71 Nick Price designed course, in collaboration with award-winning golf course architect Craig Schreiner. Membership at the Members Club has its privileges—mostly the lack of wait time, which is just one of the benefits of being the only private golf club experience in Myrtle Beach. Where else can you finish a round of 18 on a warm (the average high temperature in October is 77 degrees!) fall afternoon in less than three and a half hours?  Certainly not at any of the other 102 public golf courses across the Myrtle Beach area.

Live the local life.

Festivals and specials events abound in the Myrtle Beach area at this time of year, so live like a local and take advantage of all of them. There are Seafood Festivals and Oktoberfests and Island Music Fests and even fireworks displays through the end of November. Some must-see events to consider include the Annual Myrtle Beach 400 Race and the South Carolina State Bluegrass Festival. See a complete list of activities here.

We’re hosting the first-ever Ghosts on the Coast.

Now this is how you celebrate Halloween, with our inaugural Ghosts on the Coast “spooktacular” event. Join us on the lawn to listen to some great music and soak in the views of the Intracoastal Waterway at the newly finished outdoor event space at Grande Dunes Marina. It’s our very first event here, so we’re going to make it a party to remember.

All you have to do is crawl into your scariest costume on Saturday, October 28, from 5 pm until 9 pm. You, your friends, and your neighbors will enjoy live music, lighted displays, free pirate ship rides, a frighteningly delicious variety of food and drink, street performers, carnival games and yes, costume contests! There will be free goody bags for the first 100 children (some with extra prizes inside!), but make no mistake, this is a full evening of fun for goblins of all ages.

Admission is free, but we’re encouraging donations to the American Red Cross to assist with recent disaster relief efforts. We’re committed to helping, and Grande Dunes Properties will double the total amount collected.

Come join the fun and be part of a very good cause. For more information, or to sign up for costume contests, click here.
