Ghosts on the Coast Event at Grande Dunes Marina Attracts Big Crowd, Halloween ‘Spooktacular’ Raises More than $2,600 for American Red Cross.

November 14th, 2017

Ghosts on the Coast, a Halloween festival inaugurated on Saturday, October 28 at Grande Dunes Marina, drew more than 1000 residents from the Myrtle Beach area.

The free, public event, at the light-festooned and decorated music and event lawn, featured street performers, carnival games, and live music. An authentic-looking pirate ship packed 72 people for each 30-minute ride throughout the night. VIEW OUR EVENT VIDEO

Ghosts on the Coast also introduced Grande Dunes Marina’s new Music and Event Lawn. The lawn offered a lush green space where people spread out, picnicked, and danced to the band Sea Cruz performing against the backdrop of the Intracoastal Waterway. A few steps away, attendees could purchase delicious supper fare from Sticky Fingers Catering, Hoosier Daddy’s State Fare, the Trojan Cow, Tropical Sno and the Grande Dunes Members Club.

More than 500 people, decked out in their Halloween best, participated in the costume contests, ranging from Child 0-5, Youth 6-13, or Adult 14+ categories. All winners received $25 gift cards. The first 100 children at the event received goodie bags, with three lucky winners receiving a $100 Toy R Us gift card.

And, while Ghosts on the Coast was free, attendees gave more than $1,300 to the American Red Cross, the event’s designated charity. Grande Dunes matched that amount, creating a total gift of $2,606 to help the American Red Cross in disaster relief efforts.

“This extraordinary generosity shows what a big heart our Myrtle Beach community has,” said Margaret LaCalle, President, Grande Dunes and Grande Dunes North. “We are thrilled so many families, friends, and neighbors loved our very first Ghosts on the Coast, and we look forward to hosting many more events in this exceptionally scenic locale.”

LaCalle encourages the community to come back and visit Grande Dunes Marina, which is open to the public year-round, and to visit GrandeDunes.com to stay tuned for future events.
