Grande Dunes Marina Inaugurates New Music and Event Lawn

October 26th, 2017

Ribbon-cutting ceremony this Friday to mark new public festival space

Myrtle Beach, SC – October 26, 2017 – Grande Dunes will officially open its new Music and Event Lawn this Friday, October 27, at 2:00 p.m. The Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce, including Myrtle Beach Mayor, John Rhodes, will attend for the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Myrtle Beach’s highly anticipated new festival space. A reception, with light refreshments, will follow.

Grande Dunes’ newest outdoor music and event area will encourage festivalgoers to spread out, picnic, and enjoy music in a striking natural setting. Live performances will take place against the backdrop of the Intracoastal Waterway – thanks to a ground-level concrete stage, strategically placed on the water’s edge. The 2.35-acre lawn, meticulously landscaped to create a lush and level green perfect for blankets and folding chairs, can accommodate several thousand people and is located at the Grande Dunes Marina: 8201 Marina Parkway, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572.

Grande Dunes plans to host many events and festivals on the green at the Marina, which is open to the public year-round. “Our team is thrilled to unveil this new space that allows us to share Grande Dunes with the larger Myrtle Beach community. We look forward to hosting several great events here in the coming year,” said Margaret LaCalle, Division President – Coastal North.

The first event, Ghosts on the Coast, a Halloween “Spooktacular,” takes place Saturday, October 28, 5-9 p.m., with the band Sea Cruz performing on the new lawn at 6 p.m. Grande Dunes Marina, festooned with lights, will feature pirate ship rides, street performers, local food vendors, and family friendly activities. And, in response to recent hurricane devastation, the event will accept donations to the American Red Cross and Grande Dunes Properties will match them – doubling the final gift.
