2014 Anchor Cafe Donations for Hope House

It’s not every day that more than $1,500 in cold hard cash can be pulled from the ceiling of a restaurant, but that’s exactly what happened at Anchor Café, located on the intercoastal waterway by the Marina at Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach. All money collected went to benefit Hope House of Myrtle Beach whose mission is to provide a healthy environment for registered Myrtle Beach High School students who are designated homeless and who are actively completing their academic requirements to receive high school diplomas.

In celebration of the successful fundraiser, which ended when the outdoor restaurant closed for the season November 2nd, Anchor Café made a special presentation during a Happy Hour for Hope House held on October 29th. Toby Frisch, Anchor Café Supervisor, amazed café visitors all season long by taking contributions (dollar bills wrapped with a quarter and a thumbtack) and then flinging them at the ceiling. Frisch added, “People were so willing to donate because they know the money goes to such a good cause.  In fact the fundraiser has been such a success, we plan to sponsor it again next year when we reopen in April.”
