Exciting Updates at the Ocean Club
One of the best places to relax and have fun within Grande Dunes is at our fabulous Ocean Club. Here, residents enjoy private beach access, expansive swimming pools, delicious dining and much more. Yet even though the Ocean Club was already extraordinary, improvements have been in the works to deliver an even better club experience. These range from more room for activities to a brighter 2nd floor and greater view of the ocean.
We spoke with the fantastic Peggy Davis, our Lifestyle Director, to see what she can tell us about the happenings at the Ocean Club!
GD: Can you give us an overview of the improvements that have been made at the Ocean Club?
PD: Our club has been redesigned to give us so much more usable space. We’re so excited now that we can offer even more events, classes, socials and activities for our members. We have a full-service bar on the 2nd floor along with a large all-purpose area with supersized TVs, a beautiful lounge overlooking the pool and a new private boardroom space, plus we plan on adding a business center and book nook. This additional space will impact everything in a positive way especially for our card clubs, bunko, bingo and trivia nights, craft clubs, and for those who just want to hang out with friends or find a quiet place to read in the lounge.
GD: Wow! How do these updates help residents better enjoy the club?
PD: We will eventually have Happy Hour in our new 2nd floor bar to give the residents a totally separate place to socialize. If they want to only socialize and order from the Happy Hour menu, then they can do that in our new bar space. If they have a dinner reservation, they simply go down to the 1st floor to enjoy their conveniently-located quiet dinner.
GD: What important information should all members of the Ocean Club know?
PD: Residents will be able to rent space and have private functions in this space. They can contact Lisa Mitchell for more information. We will also have the space for private dinners and receptions, special occasion parties, sporting events, etc. Plus, the hard surface floor will enable us to offer fitness classes, dancing, yoga, tai chi, craft classes, etc.
GD: Sounds exciting! Last but not least, do you have any event news you can share with us?
PD: We have started the Neighborhood Connection Happy Hour and Pool Parties during the 3rd Wave from 4:30 – 7:00 pm. This event is exclusive to specific neighborhoods and a way to enjoy getting to know your neighbors. We are still living in a COVID environment, so we have implemented new policies to help everyone feel good about attending. We call it “Socializing Safely”. All the details are on the member web calendar.
