Grande Dunes Spotlight – Meredith Donahue

Originally from East Tennessee, Meredith has lived and worked in the Myrtle Beach area since 1995. Prior to joining the McConnell Golf team, she served in various marketing roles in the tourism and advertising agency fields. She was instrumental in the launch of various successful marketing campaigns for area resorts and tourism entities. Meredith holds a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from Walden University and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications (Public Relations) from the University of South Carolina. Meredith and her husband Steven, a golf course superintendent, welcomed their first son, Carson, in June of 2014.

Something that my friends know about me but a lot of others wouldn’t is that I am big college football fan (I pull for the Gamecocks and the Vols). I grew up a high school football coach’s child, so the love of the game is in my blood.

Personal Hero: My personal hero is my aunt Cheryl (now deceased). She lost a very long battle with cancer in 2013 at the age of 55. Cheryl was the kind of person everyone else wanted to be. She was a music teacher and a minister of music in Fuquay-Varina. She loved music. She loved children. She loved people. Her strength was unmatched. She was a true role model and inspiration to all who knew her.

What do you love about what you do? What I love most about what I do is meeting new people and the personal interaction. I love the marketing and public relations aspect of my job, but the interaction with new and current members is something I really enjoy.
