More Than a Clubhouse: Inside the Social Scene at the Ocean Club
March 12th, 2026
There’s a moment every other Wednesday evening when the dining room at the Ocean Club at Grande Dunes transforms. Tables get pushed together — groups of 10, groups of 12 — and the room fills with laughter, friendly competition, and the kind of energy that only happens when neighbors become friends. It’s Music Bingo night, and it has become one of the most beloved traditions at the club.
“We are pretty much fully booked every other Wednesday,” says Caitlin, the Ocean Club’s Lifestyle Director. “You really see a lot more people coming together to play and enjoy everyone’s company.”
That spirit of togetherness is what defines life at the Ocean Club. Yes, there’s a stunning oceanfront pool, beach access, and a beautifully renovated bar and dining room. But ask any resident what keeps them coming back, and the answer almost always comes down to the people — and the camaraderie they find here.

Where Connections Happen Naturally
For new residents, finding your social circle in a community as expansive as Grande Dunes can feel daunting. But you don’t have to be an extrovert to find your circle here — the Ocean Club serves as the natural gathering point where those connections take root. New member orientations help residents get acquainted, and a new “Meet the Neighbors” mixer series is launching this year to bring together residents from different neighborhoods to mingle in a relaxed setting.
Once people settle in, the rhythms of club life take over. Neighborhoods organize happy hours — sometimes 30 or 40 people deep — and regulars claim their favorite spots at the bar or the high-top tables lining the windows. The Grande Dunes Women’s Club meets monthly, with standout gatherings like their December holiday bazaar (complete with a surprise visit from Santa — and the Grinch armed with snowballs) and a May high tea where elaborate hats are practically required.
“There’s definitely a core group who love to dance,” Caitlin says. “After a couple of glasses of wine, if there is live music, they will even dance in the dining room.” Events like the Halloween and Christmas parties — with dining downstairs and a DJ spinning upstairs — regularly draw well over 100 residents ready to cut loose.

Elevated, But Never Stuffy
According to Caitlin, the recent renovations have breathed new life into the club, and the expanded bar has quickly become a resident favorite. “It’s three times the size of our former setup,” she says, “And it allows everyone to sit down and join in.” But the real refresh goes deeper than the décor. The culinary program has been reimagined with a seafood-forward menu, a popular pick-two lunch format, and casual bar bites perfect for game nights and happy hours. A new beverage program is on the way, too — focused on classic cocktails done perfectly rather than an overwhelming list.
For those looking to explore beyond the everyday menu, the club’s themed dinner series takes residents on culinary journeys — a seven-course Spanish dinner with expert wine pairings, bourbon and rum tastings, and more. And the brand-new Ocean Club Wine Society has already exceeded every expectation, drawing more than 60 member households in its first month alone. Members enjoy wine at near-cost pricing, complimentary quarterly bottles, and exclusive tastings.
“We were estimating maybe 20 or 30 couples,” Caitlin says. “I think we’re up to 60 within the first month.”

A Club That Lives Year-Round
What surprises many new residents is just how much the Ocean Club offers beyond the expected. The pool stays open well beyond the typical Memorial Day to Labor Day window, and beach access is guaranteed around the clock — even at 3:30 in the morning if the mood strikes. Complimentary towel service, reservable cabanas stocked with chilled water, and poolside food and drink service make every visit feel like a resort experience.
The calendar stays full year-round with watercolor classes, fitness sessions, educational presentations, author book signings, and the beloved annual kids back-to-school bash — complete with dunk booths, water guns, and a fiercely competitive cornhole tournament.
Back by popular demand, the long-awaited Summer Luau finally returns in 2026. It’s just one of a new wave of themed events, including a brand-new Arabian Nights party. Stay tuned for more.

The Real X Factor
At a club where the motto is “always yes — if not, no because…,” the commitment to making every resident feel at home is what sets the Ocean Club apart. It’s the place where a Wednesday night turns into a standing date with friends, where a casual happy hour becomes a neighborhood tradition, and where the line between neighbor and friend disappears entirely.
That’s the life at Grande Dunes — and it all starts at the Ocean Club.
