Living Grande

December 21st, 2018

Dear Grande Dunes Residents,

What an amazing year it has been here at Grande Dunes. We have seen some wonderful new additions to our community, “survived” a major storm and enjoyed some fantastic moments. I have come to love the unique blend of people, beautiful scenery and fun lifestyle that makes Grande Dunes an extraordinary place. As another year comes to a close, let’s remember some of the most memorable highlights 2018 brought.

GRANDE EVENTS

Our Marina Park events continued to draw guests. We learned that guests enjoy special events like Derby Day and Long Bay Symphony most and as such, our 2019 calendar offers many similar happenings.

These events are meant to create a sense of charitable awareness. While we live in a fantastic community, many of our neighbors in the City of Myrtle Beach are not as fortunate. I have met some wonderful, selfless individuals who dedicate their time to help the less fortunate and I am honored to be able to use our platform to raise awareness and give back. This year alone, we were able to support these charities; American Heart Association, Parkland Broward Education Fund, Hope House-Myrtle Beach, Coastal Carolina Sertoma Club, Habitat for Humanity of Horry County, Grand Strand Humane Society, Grand Strand Stingrays, Fastpitch INC, Horry Georgetown Home Builders Association, Help4Kids/Backpack Buddies, Lowcountry Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer and Boy Scout Troop 801, Myrtle Beach. It is truly a blessing that we are lucky enough to help others.

A touching moment was the Veterans Day flag dedication. I was surprised to learn from a resident veteran that we did not have an American flag on our property, so on November 11, 2018, Group #801 of the Boy Scouts performed a flag dedication ceremony. Many of our resident veterans took part in this beautiful event to honor our fallen heroes.

GROWING GRANDE

On the development side, things have been more active than ever. The Highway 17 beautification project made a huge difference here at Grande Dunes. The layout was designed to both beautify and slow traffic while going through the community. As the second phase nears completion, I am excited to see the landscaping bloom when spring arrives.

Del Webb has completed their $8M amenity site, and 60 new residents have joined the Grande Dunes family.

Living Dunes experienced tremendous growth by introducing new paired villas and townhomes. Along with their walking trails and amenity, this community has something for everyone.

Cipriana Park, with only 8 lots left to sell, we wish Traditional Homes much success as they embark upon their closeout process.

Portside, our first assisted living facility on property, will open their first phase to residents in January. The team is currently hiring 60+ semi and full professional medical staff.

Our Waterside Pointe community, part of Del Webb, opened with our custom builders Nations Homes & Carrell Homes. Everyone should visit Waterside Pointe to see the beautiful community day dock and the gas lantern gated entrance way.

Nations Homes is also building custom homes in our Villa Venezia community. The second-floor balcony of Nations’ model home offers a gorgeous view overlooking the golf course.

Members Club Enclave — Arthur Rutenberg Homes continues to create luxury and exclusivity with their multi-million-dollar homes. I hope you have all visited their beautifully appointed, fully furnished model. By the way, the Tesla that graces the front driveway is not for sale, but I am sure you can take a peek at its beautiful interior.

NEW FRIENDLY FACES

Grande Dunes experienced significant growth, not only within the community on the development side, but also within our staff. The addition of General Manager Richard Convertini, Lifestyle Director Peggy Davis, Food and Beverage Director Eric French and Executive Chef Isaac Spencer enriched our community through social interaction and quality efforts. These new leaders are passionate about what they do and strive to continue improving our exquisite lifestyle for residents, golfers and visitors.

PROVIDING EXCELLENCE

Owner of Hook & Barrel Heidi Yukov continues to offer excitement through her sustainable food menu, as well as Ruth’s Chris’s exemplary, daily happy hours. The Marina Inn & Marriott Hotel continue to be fantastic partners with us, and always deliver the Grande Dunes lifestyle experience to our out-of-state visitors. The Resort Course delivers exceptional golf experiences for our golfing residents and their guests. This year, we saw a partnership with raising the level of golf maintenance across the two courses here at Grande Dunes.

MORE FUN TO COME!

As 2018 comes to a close, it goes without saying, the incredible operations team here at Grande Dunes makes everything possible. Their vision, outreach efforts and passion for building a better community is humbly appreciated. Most of all, I thank you, the residents, Members Club members, Grande Dunes retailers, City of Myrtle Beach staff and council members. Without each of you, Grande Dunes would not flourish and grow. Thank you for a fantastic 2018. Happy Holidays to you and your family, on behalf of everyone here at Grande Dunes, we wish you a very prosperous 2019 and beyond!
