Marina at Grande Dunes Named Preferred Docking Destination for Myrtle Beach Region

July 25th, 2017

Raleigh, NC July 24, 2017 —Myrtle Beach region residents have chosen the Marina at Grande Dunes as their preferred docking destination in an independent reader’s choice competition. This is truly the best Myrtle Beach Marina in the area!

The 126-slip Grande Dunes Marina features state-of-the-art floating docks and 1,200 linear feet of lay-along mooring accommodating any boat or vessel up to 120 feet or more. A central feature of the Grande Dunes master-planned community, it is located at Intracoastal Waterway Mile Marker 357 and Day Marker 21B. The Marina at Grande Dunes also has conveniences of the Anchor Café, a gas station and Marina Store to access boating and fishing supplies.

Sponsored by Waccamaw Publishers, the readers’ choice contest solicited the preferences of Horry County’s 309,000 residents through the Myrtle Beach Herald, one of its publications. The Myrtle Beach resort area is located within South Carolina county, which is one of the state’s fastest growing metropolitan areas.

“We believe the ballots represent a true and accurate reading of the favorite businesses of consumers living in the area,” said Steve Robertson, publisher of the Myrtle Beach Herald. “We are very proud of our reader response.”

The Myrtle Beach Herald is one of more than eight digital and print properties operated by Waccamaw Publishers, one of the longest running, locally owned independent media companies in the Myrtle Beach region.

Readers voted for favorites in 11 business categories. The Marina at Grande Dunes competed in the Recreation, Leisure and Sports group.

South Carolina Representative Russell W. Fry, who represents District 106 in Horry County, praised the designation as yet another accolade for a resort operation committed to quality service. “This is a tremendous and well-earned honor,” Fry wrote in a letter to marina executives. “Your contributions to the economic growth of our community are greatly appreciated.”
