Grande Dunes Hosts McLeod Foundation Golf Classic

January 12th, 2018

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Jan. 23, 2018 — Grande Dunes was honored to host the McLeod Seacoast Cancer Benefit Golf Classic on October 27—28th. Held at Grande Dunes Members Club, the golf tournament, presented by Sand Hills Bank, raised more than $55,000 on behalf of cancer patients.

The Classic festivities kicked off Thursday evening at the Grande Dunes Ocean Club with a cocktail party featuring a gourmet strolling dinner, silent auction, and live music. The benefit continued with breakfast, Friday lunch, and a Saturday awards luncheon which honored first-place winners Dewey Brunson, Patrick Lundy, Adam Paxton, and Brett Hardee of Best Home & Property Services.

The top-winning team numbered among the approximately 80 golfers participating in the annual tournament which benefits the McLeod Seacoast HOPE (Helping Oncology Patients Everyday) Fund. HOPE assists patients with financial barriers to care – allowing McLeod Seacoast to offer them transportation to treatment, assistance with medications, specialized nutrition, educational resources for families and support from volunteer programs.

“This annual event is what makes the HOPE Fund a reality,” said Nichole C. Rivers, Director, McLeod Health Foundation. “We appreciate that Grande Dunes believes in the mission of the McLeod Health Foundation.”

Meredith Donahue, Membership Director at Grande Dunes Members Club, values the partnership too. “We love it when Grande Dunes can assist in combining a great event,” she said, “with a cause that positively impacts our members of the Myrtle Beach community when they most need our support.”
