Residents Enjoy Water Music at Marina Park

September 23rd, 2019

It seems that every time the magnificent musicians of The Long Bay Symphony visit Grande Dunes, they outdo themselves. That’s exactly what happened on September 21st, when they performed Water Music at the Park! The event was nothing short of fantastic as our favorite symphony performed some classical masterpieces that wowed our large crowd. Led by Conductor Dr. Charles Jones Evans, the orchestra’s set list included pieces by Handel, Mozart, Strauss and more. The first 100 guests received a special Grande Dunes 20th Anniversary blanket, which many enjoyed as they listened to the symphony play.

Yet the music wasn’t the only attraction at Water Music at the Park! Guests also dove into a delicious Oyster Roast. The Oyster Roast included oysters, beer, wine and other refreshments. Guests also had additional dining options. Food trucks from Kurbside Katering and Benitos Rolling Oven Wood-Fired Pizza were present, filling the air with delicious smells.

Proceeds from our fifty-fifty raffle were given to New Directions, a local nonprofit that provides temporary shelter to men, women and families. Their mission is to end homelessness in Horry County by helping those in need start new chapters of their lives with the help of shelter, basic necessities and connections, which empowers them to find employment and a better life.

As this event season comes to a close, we are so grateful to all that visited Marina Park. We would like to thank The Long Bay Symphony for performing amazing concerts for our residents and the Myrtle Beach community in this amazing anniversary year of Grande Dunes. We can’t wait for 2020 and the next incredible musical event.
