The 5th Hole at Grande Dunes Members Course

From time-to-time, we’ll be sharing some tips about how to approach specific holes on the Grande Dunes Members Club golf course.

This time we focus on the 5th hole which is a short par 5 offering players a good opportunity to get a birdie when played correctly. A lake runs along the right side tempting players to aim at the steep faced bunker on the left side of the fairway. Finding the bunker or the water makes par a pretty unlikely score. About 80 yards out you’ll find a set of hidden fairway bunkers in the center that make players of all skill levels rethink trying to go for the green without a layup shot first. Be wary of the false front that will have balls rolling back down 20 feet off the green during firm and fast conditions. A four or a five at the 5th is a good score.
