Grande Dunes Donates Proceeds from Concert to Local Nonprofit Helping Survivors of Homelessness

Grande Dunes, a master-planned community located in Myrtle Beach, SC has donated the proceeds of their latest on-property event to New Directions, a local nonprofit helping men, women and families find temporary housing.
The concert, Water Music at Marina Park, was performed by The Long Bay Symphony, an orchestra based in the Grand Strand. Considered a favorite of residents, this is the third time they have performed at Marina Park. In addition to classical music, attendees enjoyed an oyster roast hosted by Grande Dunes, featuring flame-roasted oysters, beer, wine, spirits and more. Several local food trucks were also present, offering a variety of local dishes. The first 100 guests of the event received a free blanket commemorating the Grande Dunes 20th anniversary.
The check presentation ceremony then occurred on October 11, 2019. Grande Dunes Lifestyle Director Peggy Davis presented a check in the amount of $1,255.00 to New Directions. The South Carolina-based nonprofit will use the donation in their efforts to provide temporary shelter for those recovering from homelessness and are in need of support as they start a new chapter of their lives.
“We were thrilled that The Long Bay Symphony was able to deliver an amazing performance once again for our residents. This event presented us with an amazing opportunity to support one of our favorite nonprofits in the area,” said Davis.
Grande Dunes contributes to a local nonprofit for each event they host, allowing the community to give back in a variety of ways. Their 2019 event season is scheduled to end with Ghosts on the Coast on October 26th, a family-friendly Halloween party that will benefit the Susan G. Komen South Carolina Chapter.
