Experience Water Music at Marina Park!

August 8th, 2019

The Long Bay Symphony has delivered incredible performances for Grande Dunes at Marina Park several times in the past, and every time is better than the last. Our newest event, Water Music at Marina Park, is sure to be a fantastic experience for our residents and the Myrtle beach community. Sit back, relax and enjoy the musicians of Water Music. There will be an oyster roast available as well as beer, wine and other refreshments.

What is Water Music?
While Marina Park does overlook the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway and Grande Dunes Marina, that’s not exactly why we’re calling the event Water Music at Marina Park! Water Music is a beautiful collection of orchestra movements composed by George Frideric Handel. Usually performed as three suites set in F, D and G majors, this extraordinary collection of music was created when Handel was requested to perform a concert on the Thames River by King George I in 1717. Now, this timeless piece of music is coming to the Grande Dunes community!

Beautiful Music for a Beautiful Cause
Like all events at Grande Dunes, a portion of Water Music at Marina Park’s proceeds will go to a charitable organization benefiting the local Grande Dunes area. This event will help New Directions, who operates 4 shelters along the Grand Strand to assist men, women and families with emergency, non-emergency, long term and transitional housing. New Directions exceeds the basic provisions of food and shelter by providing recovery classes, job readiness classes, permanent housing assistance and long-term case management.
